The Ultimate Joy of Dressing is in a Fitted Shirt

There are different attributes we look for before we make a final buy like brand, price, colour, plain or design. But the most important element which all of us care for is the fitting. Whether it is men or women, each one of us looks best in the outfit which fits us perfectly. A perfect fit will not make you look slouchy and bored rather will give a professional touch and smart feel making you look charming all along. For men, a well-fitted shirt would make the impact of persona on others. What's more important, however, is to understand how well a shirt conforms to your body.

  1. Collar: You ought to be able to separate the two buttons with a finger gap, which is a fairly standard fit. Anything beneath these two buttons is referred to as not-so-fitted.
  2. Shoulder: Another important aspect of a fitted shirt is the shoulder. It should fit rightly at the shoulder with no baggy portions sliding down the arm.
  3. Armholes: This is the most important fit of a fitted shirt. This part should comfortably fit your armpits without any extra loose fabric. It must fit with a well-fitted tapered end.
  4. Sleeves: The appropriate length of a full-sleeved shirt is a few inches beyond the wrist, but not more.
  5. Chest & Torso: The fabric should fit this part of the body comfortably, being a little less boxy. But care is taken that you can move your hands without choking the air inside you.
  6. Length: It should be a few inches down the waist like a few inches below the zipper. When you raise your hands in the air, the shirt must be tucked inside the pant.

Types

  1. Regular fit: It is appropriate for men of all body types, but it is not the best choice for slimmer men. This fit has plenty of room in the chest, torso, armpits, and sleeves. These are mildly contoured towards the waist and do not cling to your body due to the larger fit, making them quite relaxing and comfortable. It looks great with a suit or blazer, and it's especially good on men with a slightly rounded body because the loose fit hides flaws.
  2. Slim fit: It is the perfect fit for men with slimmer bodies, however, it offers slightly less movement than the classic fitted shirt. But try to avoid these nicely-fitted shirts if you are bulky around the belly region, as it is greatly tapered to offer a perfect shape.
  3. Tailored fit: It combines the best of both worlds- both slim fit and a classic fit. This customized fitted shirt is so designed that offers more room than the slim-fitted shirt but is less space than that of the classic ones. And same is with the sleeves too, it is not as fitted as the slim fitted shirts but looks good on men with slimmer builds or men with a slightly muscular build.
  4. Skinny fit: These shirts with skinny fit are perfect for those men who are not at all muscular and are slimmer and trim. As the fabric around the waist, armpits and chest area is more tapered and fitted that gives less movement than it is found in a slim fitted shirt.
  5. Athletic fit: As the name suggests, it is athletic so it draws attention to your broad chest and shoulders. This kind of fitted shirt is more tapered in the waist area like the slim-fitted ones. As in the latter one, a man with a muscular build will not be able to move as there is less fabric around the chest, and shoulders. However, the same issue we do not face with this kind of athletic fitted shirt as there is enough room for your muscles and a broader chest of yours.
