Saree surely remains one of the most popular clothing choices among women. But when it comes to summer season, many women prefer to stay away from sarees due to summer heat. If you want to stay comfortable in a saree during the summer season, you must go for summer friendly fabrics that are soft and lightweight. Breathable saree fabrics like cotton, linen, sheer, khadi, silk and chambray are the best fabric choices in summers. While synthetic, nylon, and polyester sarees should be avoided. Designer Anita Dongre’s floral printed sarees and Shivan and Naresh’s fringed numbers were a hit at the Lakmé fashion show. The designers tried their hand in playfully tweaking with the blouse to a give unique and innovative look to the wearer. Designers mostly played with the embroidery work on blouse along with sleeve and the length of it.

Renowned designer Anushree Reddy not just experimented with the blouse, her designed Sarees carried all the extravagant details like tassels and ruffles. The popular summer colours spotted were soft pastels of green, ivory, pink while she intelligently played with the floral prints.

Designer Anita Dongre could be seen presenting eco-friendly collection that comprised lightweight saris in most prominent vibrant prints. While celebrity fashion and veteran designer, Rohit Bal opted for the darker side of the colour palette with floral printed saris in black. These sarees were seen layered with a rose-embroidered cape.
